Unholy Murder is a fairly predictable murder mystery. A good mystery always has surprises, twists and turns and a multitude of suspects. This book has none of that so it wasn’t difficult to predict the ending and then slog through until the end. It did begin to get interesting with the possibility that a disgruntled detective would challenge a powerful official of the Catholic Church but the book ended before it happened. A follow up book perhaps? I’ll pass on that one. Also, I can never understand why an author feels it’s necessary to include romances in a story when it adds nothing to the narrative. I think the author has a good start to writing a good mystery; her detectives are compelling characters but her stories need more mystery and suspense. I would be interested in hearing more from Detective Jane and learning more about her backstory
