I have never read anything in this series before or by this author but I was still able to follow along. Jane is an interesting character full of flaws and heart. The mystery of the nun in the coffin will keep you guessing until the end and even than there are plenty of unanswered questions. The suspects are real and the stupid things they do I can see real life people doing. There was plenty of twists some you could guess and plenty you never saw coming. And that ending I never saw coming. The personal life of the detective is as important as the mystery but it never overwhelms the plot. I loved everything about this book and it's one of those that you have to read again after you know all the details. This is a great whodunit mystery. I look forward to reading the rest of the books in the series. The cover is also very well done. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves a good mystery.
