When I'm looking for an absorbing story, there's nothing quite like a mystery. Lynda La Plante's "Unholy Murder" hit the mark perfectly in the first few chapters. The mystery set up is engaging and keeps you guessing. I do wish I had a better sense of the characters, but I think this may be part of an existing series, which might be why I feel like I'm missing some pieces.
