I love a good British mystery, and while the premise of this one (a coffin found with a person maybe buried alive) seemed interesting, I couldn't connect to these first few chapters. There were many casual references to what I assume are past books in a series or trying to remind people of the characters’ backgrounds - I was left feeling like this beginning needed more excitement to draw you into the story and less about stuff that happened in previous books? For fans of this author, I am sure this will be a great read, but I feel like I need to read some previous works before diving into this one.
