Under the Naga Tail was difficult for me to read for several reasons. It was beutifully written, however, it os hard to read a true story filled with such mindless violence and hatred.
This is a period of history that I did not know a lot about when I received the ARC two weeks ago. I went into the story with a basic knowledge of the subject. Having not known the specifics I was underprepared for the constant hardships that I was signing on to read about.
I feel that this book is so important for people to be reading. We hear so much about certain aspects of world history and yet very little about something like this. We must educate ourselves by reading the stories of the people who lived. I am very greatful to have gotten the opportunity to read this book.
The author takes great care to document his fathers early life and does a wonderful job of bringing the reader into the environment that his father was held captive to for all those years.
