Mae Taing grew up in Cambodia in a loving Chinese family who owned a business that was thriving. He was attending Mandarin school when the Khmer Rouge came to power, and everything changed for their family. Despite hearing tales from other survivors, he and his family couldn’t believe such terrible things could really be happening, similar to the Jewish Holocaust. This is a very moving, poignant memoir that will give inspiration to all.
