Impressive Memoir That Will Bring Awareness to a History That is Often Tragically Skipped Over

What a fascinating start to this story!! I love nonfiction first hand accounts of various events through history and learning about events I am not very familiar with. This one fits that category well. I love that James saw the value in his father's story being shared. I can't wait to learn more about what transpired and the resiliency he developed through the ordeal. I hate that awful things like this have happened, but hope that books like these can help events like this not happen in the future and help others to treat all human beings better. I have high hope's for Mae's message reaching many people. I really enjoyed the first look and appreciate Mae's vulnerability in sharing these traumatic experiences with the world in order to help others understand what transpired and preserve his story.
