I really enjoyed reading Twice as Perfect by Louisa Onomé. I have recently started to get into family focused stories and this one was the perfect one to pick up and read. Adanna Nkwachi is a well-written and relatable character. I loved the focus on the complexities of families and the struggle to fit in. I also liked the inclusion of Nigerian culture. You could really understand the problems Adanna was facing between her Canadian life and her Nigerian life. I think a lot of people can relate to Adanna because she is the daughter of immigrants and she has to figure out how to live between these two lives with wanting what she knows is best for her and the pressure from her parents to live up to their complicated expectations. There's themes of family, identity, importance of culture, and teenage struggles. This book was a pretty easy read, and it could be slow in a few places, but it was enjoyable overall.
