I really enjoyed reading this story. It follows a Nigerian-Canadian teenager who deals with growing up in two worlds, with two different parts of her identity, reflecting in the fact that around Nigerians she goes by her first name, Adanna, but around non-Nigerians, she goes by her more Westernized middle name, Sophie. This was a great look at what it can be like for many children of immigrants and the ways that can make the already difficult teenage task of self-discovery even harder. Even worse for our protagonist, her brother left her family, which means she has twice as much pressure to be the "perfect child." Twice as Perfect deals with family drama, challenging love triangles, self-discovery, and navigating lines between cultures. I enjoyed the story and found it really well done, and really connected with Adanna. And the added fun of a Nigerian wedding with a bridezilla cousin added a fun element to the story!
