Twice as Hard is a Hard Read
Twice as Hard served as just that for me - a twice as hard read. The cover was clear, concise, and drew me in instantly with its vivid colors and stark contrast of words to background. However, as I dove in to the narrative set up by Raphael and Opeyemi, I just could not quite find my footing. And now, I unfortunately admit that this read was a do not finish for me. So what do you do with a DNF? At least as far as a review goes?
First, I'll state just that fact. This read was a DNF, but it should not dampen the work itself. Some books speak to some readers, while others speak to the same or others. I think this book has a place and it has an audience. And odd as this may sound, I think it may have an audience in me with a second try or a renewed perspective. Sometimes a book just comes to you at the wrong time in your life. So for now, I'm shelving this one... but will hope to pick up again one day.
