surprised me!
thank you penguin teen for sending me this... i thoroughly enjoyed this weird little book.
i checked the reviews for this one on goodreads and lowered my expectations. man y'all, this one gets a lot of meh reviews. but here i am, loving it. because the cheese always stands alone.
i have a thing for cults. in 2020 i went on a binge and watched every cult show that existed on streaming platforms. so match up horror and cults and im always in.
i loved elwood. wil was alright, but that little soft cinnamon roll of a boy stole my heart. i even got a little emo at the end.
this would have been a 5 star read for me if it would have been adult horror with way more gore and a little more fleshed out on the romance. but it wasn't. so why am i even mentioning that?
i'll be keeping an eye out on this authors future books for sure. she does YA horror well. i can't wait to see what she comes up with next.
