The characterization is beautiful and so greatly executed. Wil is an intelligent, impulsive, and stubborn girl who is grieving her missing mother and will not stop at anything to find her. She wishes to uncover the truth behind her mother's disappearance and will dig up all the skeletons needed in order to do so. Her determination and head strong attitude with resonate with so many people.
The contrast between Wil and Elwood, who is more reserved and shyer, is told very well. I love that they are so vastly different but fit so well together in the story. I love how dark this story is and seems like an amazingly spooky read. I am intrigued to see how this mystery unfolds and how the two characters find themselves back together. Sometimes you need a good spooky, paranormal mystery to get yourself back together!
