Many thanks to BookishFirst for providing me an ARC of To Sleep in a Sea of Stars, in exchange for an honest review.

Kira Navàrez is a xenobiologist in the not-so-distant future. While exploring a distant planet, she discovers *something* alien that changes both her and the course of her life. And that’s only within the first 50 pages!

I do not typically read science fiction, so I felt, at times, a little out of my depth amongst all the scientific details of the universe that Christopher Paolini has built. Regardless, I did enjoy the story, the many adventures that Kira went on and the character development of Kira and the friends (and enemies) that she made along the way. This book, at a truly epic 800+ pages full of information, was very well written and reminded me exactly why I was a fan of the Inheritance Cycle. It is obvious that Paolini spent a great deal of time on this story, and that he enjoyed the process of creating this new literary universe.
