I may have been one of the few people who enjoyed "Prometheus," despite its glaring character flaws. This book is reminiscent of that exploration and scientific discovery, with a more capable main character who does think things through....maybe too much! I am intrigued by the premise, because even though it's not particularly unique, it has captured my attention and I want to see where the story goes. Throughout the excerpt, everything seemed neat and thoroughly planned, which of course made me concerned that Murphy's law is lurking just around the corner. I want more information and background about each character, not to mention that the excerpt ended on such a cliffhanger! I've been hoping for a science fiction author who is similar to Alastair Reynolds, and while this may not be quite on that scale, I'm sure I will enjoy it.
