I'm not typically a fan of sci-fi novels, but I'm a HUGE fan of the author and his Eragon series, so when I hear he was coming out with a new book after years of no writing, I was ecstatic to get my hands on a copy.
Although the novel was long, and sometimes got a bit slow for me in certain places, I really enjoyed my reading experience! It was very different from what I usually read, and different than the few sci-fi novels I have read in the past. The characters were engaging, but what I think I most enjoyed is the unique plot and the beautiful storytelling.
I say that if you're a fan of sci-fi you should give this book a try. And if you do end up enjoying this book, or at least end up enjoying the author's writing style, that you check out his other series, the Inheritance Cycle.
Overall, very good! I look forward to reading more from this author in the future!
