Kira Navárez is used to space travel and to have a nomadic life, being here and there. However, at one point, she wants to build her life and stay at one place. During a routine survey mission on an uncolonized planet, Kira finds an alien relic. Then her life (and others around her) is changed.

I found the premise utterly intriguing and mysterious. I kind of went in blind, expecting to be surprised and immersed into Paolini's world. I really enjoyed his writing, it is fluid and easy. While the beginning quite got me into the story, as I kept reading, I thought that the huge amount of "information" (or world-building?) started to drag the story a lot. Not much was happening in the coming pages and since I wasn't expecting further character's development, the plot at least had to grab my attention.

I personally think that this book might be for fanatic sci-fi readers and I would have enjoyed it more if the plot was less meandering.
