I loved this so much!! I'm really glad I gave this author another chance after his last series that I never finished because I got super bored halfway through the second book.
The story starts out with Kira, a woman who stumbles upon an alien artifact on a routine mission that sends her on a journey that changes her inside and out. This changes make her pretty much mankind's only hope of survival. I really loved Kira and her motley crew. Also, the aliens were interesting and very strange. They really felt like actual aliens and not just strangely shaped humans.
It did feel a bit long and got a little draggy from time to time but overall, I did enjoy it and would recommend it to all the sci-fi fans!
