So, this book is big, and long, and can be dense in small sections. Its science fiction, it’s going to have those moments where your eyes might glass over a little. But, I want to say that this one is like seeing a huge chocolate chip cookie that is making your mouth water and you can’t wait to take a big ol’ bite. Then you take that bite and realize there are walnuts in it. I know, nobody wants nuts in their awesome chocolate chip cookie. So, go with me here, the walnuts are the dense parts and you have them sprinkled in here and there and you start to realize that the nuts aren’t that bad and they are actually making the cookie better. Who knew? I can definitely say the denser parts weren’t nearly as bad as some other sci-fi I have read, I think the author really nailed it by sprinkling those parts seamlessly in so the reader can understand them fairly easily.

The only small issue I had was in the very beginning the romance part felt weird and very cliché but once I got past that part it was just nonstop action and enjoyment.

There were so many ups and downs and I kept thinking “this is the climax, it must be close to the end of the book”…but no, there were still 400 pages left. It almost felt like two books, because there is this amazing climb to a resolution and then it starts all over again, it’s a ride.
I really liked the characters too, I loved the sense of “found family” and all their back stories.
You can certainly tell the hard work was done to make this story impressively accurate and really interesting.
This book has a lot going for it and it is not to be missed. I will definitely be continuing in this series.
