Kira Navárez loves exploration, but during a routine mission on an uncolonized planet she finds alien ruins. At first she is excited since further evidence of alien presence hasn't been discovered for years, however dust among the ruins moves and attaches itself to her. Kira becomes incased in suit of unknown substances and powers. Her problems are swept aside at as war breaks out across the galaxy and Kira is thrust forward into an epic space odyssey of revelation and revolution where she the last hope for humanity.
The writing was gripping and moving with strong characters that connected with readers. I don't often read science fiction, but this book captivated me and immersed me in a complex world with intriguing ideas, technology, people, and cultures. Paolini has created a compelling world with interesting characters making it a pleasure to read. I loved this book and highly recommend it!
