This first read was enjoyable enough, if not my usual genre. I like the perspective of the main character, and it seems like an interesting world that it's set in. It certainly got very exciting at the end of the first impression. However, I think upon seeing that the book is 800 some pages long and we've barely scratched the surface of that in the first look this one is a bit of a tough sell for me. I think people who love science fiction or those who read and loved the author's previous works will probably really enjoy this though as the first chapters exciting and well written.
