Tiffany Blues was the first book I’ve attempted to read by M.J. Rose, and unfortunately, I didn’t like it as much as I thought I would. Based off of the excerpt, I liked what I read and was excited to see where the rest of the story would go. However, once I started reading, I encountered some problems. I think my biggest issue was that I found myself waiting for the parts of the story pertaining to the artist colony. However, around page eighty, I’d lost interest. I do have to note that the writing was just lovely. I liked the reporter character, Ben, as well as the setting/time period—the details were excellent. And I also liked the author’s note, because it provided some context about the real world, historical elements that inspired the book.

Unfortunately, Tiffany Blues ended up being a DNF for me. If you’re interested in the book, I encourage you to form your own opinion and seek out other reviews.
