I loved the author's note about the background on Louis Comfort Tiffany, the artists school, and its impact on the author. The premise was very interesting but I was disappointed in the execution. The writing in the first chapter feels overdramatic to me, and then the sections of each chapter jump around disjointedly. I also prefer when a story shows rather than tells, but I felt like I was being told everything, and I feel like I've learned more about Minx than our main character Jenny. Personally, I didn't connect with these few first chapters, but the mysteries of Jenny's past and the fire are intriguing and sure to lure other readers into the story! Also, the cover does seem to fit the story and writing style.
