Descended from the Greek Fates, Io is a private investigator. She spends most of her time telling women about their cheating husbands. Hey, it's a living. She's fine to use her thread-cutting power this way until she finds out someone is using their cutting abilities to let loose a bunch of deadly wraiths to run amok in the city. To get to the bottom of this, she's paired with Edei, who just so happens to be her thread-bound mate.

With a book with such a cool concept and one with an awesome cover, I was a bit disappointed to be so let down by this book. There is a lot of complex world-building to sift through here. Far too complex for a YA book of this size. I also felt like there was way too many characters. Aside from Io and Edei, I could not keep them straight. The final problem (and the one that made this book a no for me) is that I felt like I never really got to know any of the characters well enough to care about them. I don't know what it was but there was a vast distance created there.

All in all, I wanted so badly to like it, but this book just was not for me.
