I have not been a fan of books with gods, mythology or fate lately as they seem to bore me. I wanted to give Threads that Bind a fair shot and I was excited about the premise but unfortunately it failed to hold my attention. The concept is very original and the story started off strong but quickly became confusing. It was hard to keep track of the unique names of people, places and magic types. The world building and history were executed in a way that felt messy and disjointed. Some of the story was muddled with extra description (especially during non action parts) for the sake of world building which hindered the progression of the plot. I did enjoy the characters as they were fleshed out very well. The main character was strong, relatable and likable. Overall, Threads That Bind fell flat and it's a story I won't remember. I'm giving it two stars instead of one for it's originality.
