This book may only be 198 pages long but the story it tells will stick me for longer than I took to read it. The words are utterly beautiful and the love felt between Red and Blue through a thousand timelines and worlds almost broke my heart. I grew to love these characters so deeply and adored the ending. My only complaint is that it wasn't long enough. Reading "This is How You Lose The Time War" showed me that a novella can have emotional depth in the exact same way that a novel does. I loved how the authors used epistolary story telling and separated the timelines so that the events were never overly repeated. I would have adored a sequel, it's such a special novella and I could easily see another story featuring Red and Blue when everything is over.

My favourite quote is "I have built a you within me, or you have. I wonder what of me there is in you."
