This science fiction slash love story is ambitious in scope and is unlike any other book I've read. The writing style is very poetic and though I really enjoyed it, it did take me about 30-50 pages to really get used to it. The style worked for me but I can see how for others, it may have been a turn-off. In addition to the writing style, the plot itself also required the reader to pay attention and really think about what the characters are going through. The authors do not spell out the main conflict or characters motivations, it's up to the reader to figure that out and it makes for an attention-gripping read.
I loved the LGBT romance element to this book. This was why I picked it up in the first place. Science fiction can often be a very straight genre and I think that the female/female romance coupled with the unique writing style makes this novella extremely fresh. Overall a very good book with many elements that I liked and have recommended to many friends.
