Deeply Poetic

I will start out by saying that this story is not for everyone. Some people will read it and absolutely die over the beautiful prose. Others will pick it up, thinking they're getting some sci-fi adventure and hate it. I'm somewhere in the middle.

While I 100% respect the poetic prose of this novella, I think I am more of a fan of stories that really get down to the nitty-gritty of worldbuilding. The writing is lovely, but sometimes just a bit too much. The short story feel may work for some people, but I personally felt kind of lost the whole time. I could tell that the premise of these two time-traveling people from warring times was unique and very intriguing, but the focus on language instead of world-building made it difficult to follow.

I didn't hate the story. In fact, I am left wanting more. I can only take so much romantic and flourished language before I just want a good story. I respect the authors a great deal, even if this isn't my favorite story style.
