A Touching Exploration of Teen Sobriety
There are not a lot of books that address teen drinking head on. This one does and in a way that treats it with the seriousness and delicacy required for the subject. Blake was a very sympathetic character and the class divide she faced with her friends built a lot of depth to her character. I have never been to Virginia Beach but I appreciated getting to explore the area through Blake and her friends. I was surprised that the boat paint incident came back into the story so late. I expected the consequences of her actions to come back sooner, but it did eventually pay off. I appreciated that we got to see Blake in college as well to see her evolution after the events of the main story. I appreciated that Blake was able to stay friends with Annetta. This is my second book from this author, and I enjoyed it just as much as the first. I will greatly anticipate anything else they write in the future.
