They Wish They Were Us by Jessica Goodman reads like a peak into the lives of the rich and privilege teenagers of Long Island. As they learn early that money and status is what life is all about at their private school no one is prepared for the brutal murder of popular teen Shaila least of all her best friend Jill.

Shaila's boyfriend confesses to the murder and life goes on until three years later as Jill is living her best life as a senior at the elite Gold Coast Prep private school she gets a mysterious text that the wrong person went to prison for Shaila's death. Confused and scared Jill starts to investigate what really happened that awful night and who is sending these texts and why now?!

This book just grabs your attention and has you holding on for dear life. From the first page I was invested in the lives of these characters and in the mystery surrounding their lives. The writer puts you right into the story and you become a part of it which is the most fun in a thriller!
