"They Wish They Were Us" is a young adult mystery that seems like it's predictable but really isn't as predictable as you think it is (unless you read a lot of mysteries then you probably have read something similar at some point). The setting is a private, high-end prep school. Our protagonist, Jill, is a member of a secret society called The Players. The book has a certain Pretty Little Liars/Gossip Girl feel. The gist of the story is that one of the players, Shaila, died her freshman year tragically and her boyfriend admitted guilt. Fast forward 3 years and Jill is starting to have doubts about everything she knows.

The characters are unrelatable but yet fascinating. The storyline was interesting and fun in a popular-girls-drama kinda way. I wish the pacing had been a little faster. But overall, it's well written. Fun. Easy to read.
