They Wish They Were Us reminded me of Pretty Little Liars meets One of Us Is Lying. What I most enjoyed about this story was the main character, Jill. She was a great narrator and really brought different parts of the story together. The main group of teens have a clique called The Players that are above the rules and run this prep school. One of the teens in the group is murdered their freshman year in what seems to be an open and closed cased. Once their senior year starts they realize there may be more to the story, which is then when so much more about their elite group is revealed. Some of the other characters in the group were pretty unlikable, but I would have appreciated a little more development for them so we could understand the group dynamics more. It was a great debut and I would definitely read whatever Jessica Goodman puts out next.
