Jill Newman is from Gold Coast, Long Island and her best friend, Shaila Arnold, was killed by her boyfriend, Graham three years ago. Jill is now a senior and a Player, a member of Gold Coast Prep's exclusive, not-so-secret secret society. Jill starts getting texts proclaiming Graham's innocence. She starts to look into them, but is hearing mixed messages, can these messages be trusted? Let the past lie, but could she also be ok letting Graham stay in prison forever? This is a web of exclusivity, gossip, entanglement, and parties. I couldn't believe how many parties there were for this high school group! They all seemed to be on their own, without much parental support or guidance, and while the perks did seem endless for the Players, they also barely had to do any work on their own, once they were in. It was interesting to see their initiation period and what they had to do to get this title. But I did find what actually happened to be a bit predictable. Thank you to the publisher for my copy!
