I was really intrigued by the start of this book and I like the main character, but about halfway in I started skimming; I just had trouble connecting with the other characters and for me, personally, there was just too much focus on the everyday lives and not enough tension/focus on the murder. I was hoping for more characters with secrets, more red herrings, and a surprise at the end, but I guessed the murderer very early which took a lot out of it for me. I also don't really understand what happened at the end. And the motive for the murder seemed spur of the moment rather than deliciously twisty....
Still I think this is an author with lots of potential, I will check out her next books.
