The cover of this book really drew me in, and I was excited to read another mystery/thriller. However, I struggled to really get into this one. It may have been the heavy emphasis on the running, (I enjoy walking and hiking, but not running), so it was hard for me to relate to the "run or die" mentality of the characters. Also, I thought it would be more focused on the mystery, but it seemed more focused on the high school drama than the mystery. And it the end the whole story was more about the high school drama, than anything else.
The characters were well developed and relatable, and it was well written. I do think the right audience will appreciate it, but it was not my favorite read. If you enjoy sports themed books with a twist of mystery, you'd probably enjoy this one. Fans of We Were Liars and One of us is Lying will probably like this one as well.
