I read and enjoyed Jessica Goodman’s debut novel and I was not disappointed by They’ll Never Catch Us. This is a story about Stella and Ellie, the Steckler sisters who are driven in their sport but very different in every other way. However, they are bonded by track, which encases a large part of their identities.
So when talented runner Mila first shows up, the sisters take a defensive stance. However, Mila wins both of them over with her charismatic personality. And when Mila goes missing, everything in the story is turned on its head. As the mystery thickens at a rapid pace, the stories of the two sisters unfold.
Jessica Goodman is a great writer with such a great understanding of young adult themes! The pacing in her novels alway keeps me on the edge of my seat. This was a fun read and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who enjoys a good angsty YA mystery!
