I read the first look of this one from @bookishfirst and I knew I’d have to read the book! Sisters Stella and Ellie are cross-country runners in a small town where the cross country runners are the cream of the crop, and Stella and Ellie are the best of the best. That is, until new girl Mila disappears, and the sisters are the number one suspects.

Stella and Ellie were great protagonists - I loved how their secrets unwound over the course of the novel. They were each well drawn with distinct personalities, and I enjoyed getting their different perspectives on the events in the story. I really liked the cross country running element of the story - I could feel the pressure and high stakes the girls faced. There’s also a strong feminist streak running through this novel, and Goodman did a great job exploring that theme. If you like YA thrillers like A Good Girl's Guide to Murder, Truly Devious, and The Ivies, I'd recommend this one!
