Running!
As a runner myself in my younger years, I can understand the thoughts swirling in Stella's brain as the story begins. I also grew up in New York state, so love reading about my home state as I picture it in my mind.
Right away I feel drawn into the story when Stella thinks about forgetting what happened last year and wanting to leave Edgewater while at Breakbridge (Crazy Camp). But Stella can't forget as she needs to earn her scholarship to college back.
So Ellie is into someone else's boyfriend and wants to be normal with him, "after everything that happened". Then Noah makes a statement that includes "after everything you have been through"..... more intrigue to suck me in and , yes, I already want to read this book! Is Noah really just using the old girlfriend to get into Princeton, or is it an excuse?
Enter Mila Keene - maybe the sisters will become closer in the battle against another great runner.
So many secrets and little hints to a slightly dysfunctional family and just what have Stella and Ellie been up and are hiding? I want to know more about the Dark Years!
