I love mysteries, but It’s not often that I pick up a book with the tagline thriller as well. Yet, on the occasions that I do, it’s usually young adult literature. Probably due to being a bit of a wuss. Regardless, this one definitely piqued my interest. Two sisters, a competitive sport, and a new girl competitor. Granted, I’m only getting a sneak peek, so my thoughts aren’t relative to the entire story, beginning to end. I can say, based on what I’ve read so far, this author has a strong and compelling writing style. Even if for some reason the full story doesn’t work out for me, I’d definitely follow her career and check out future books. As for this story, I’m not sure yet if it’s for me in the long run. The two sisters are completely unlikable and I have to have at least one or more characters that I can root for. Otherwise, it feels too dark and melancholy. I’m at least curious if there is some character growth and will continue reading when it’s released.
