The Wrong Kind of Weird is a coming-of-age romantic comedy set in the nerdy world of highschoolers obsessed with anime, manga and DragonBallZ. Cameron is an unpopular senior that works as a barista part-time, gets good grades and has only a handful of friends. He is teased often by the majority of the students at his school especially since becoming a member of social club Geeks and Nerds United. Fellow barista Karla has been casually dating Cameron since summer but being a cheerleader and student council president has her reputation to protect therefore, she hides her feelings for Cameron from her friends. Mackenzie a former art magnet student is both cool and a tad bit of a nerd. After joining Geeks and Nerds United a close friendship develops between herself and Cameron. Cameron questions his true feelings as he becomes more confident in who he is and a love triangle develops.
