This book is heartwarming, but definitely for an audience of "nerdy" that I just don't fall into. I loved the story line, and the theme and resolution of the story, but often I could not get past all the talk of manga, and things that I definitely know nothing about, and really don't care to know anything about.
Elaborate descriptions were used to describe some of the human behavior in the story. Comparisons to different manga characters, where SO many descriptions had to be used to get the general reader (like me) up to speed with what was actually being compared to. I don't know anything about ANY manga, so this talk was really outside of my wheel house, and I found myself skipping some paragraphs, because I just really didn't care to have that knowledge in my head.
This book would be great for those interested and knowledgeable about things like manga. Although it was a well written book, with very likable characters, it was really not for me.
