I do like YA books, they are fun reads that are not complicated or use words that you have to look up in the dictionary. That said, I did not understand the references to games or cartoon/movies. Gaming was and is not my thing, and it showed.
Yes, the author is male, but I don't see a young boy reading a romance story; even though it is written from a male POV. Good thing the title doesn't scream romance.
