Cameron is immediately a very well fleshed-out character. Even in the first impression you get a good opportunity to know him as a character and get to know everyone in his world. I really enjoyed getting to know both his friends and the potential love interests in this short excerpt. The way other people in the story talk about those characters also said a lot about their respective relationships to them.
