Reads Like a Slasher Movie

This book reads like an 80’s slasher movie complete with unrealistic situations. I thought this book had a lot more potential, but I didn’t understand why half of the book was just the two friends bickering on a hike they had no business being on. I felt like despite the decent amount of time before any action they did a poor job of developing the characters or their relationship. The 100 pages of bickering and being obnoxious made me really not care for these characters or what happened to them. Once we found the villains I felt like things got super unbelievable. I don’t want to get into spoilers, but the lack of believability took me out of the experience. I do hope Netflix picks this one up too because what I like in a slasher is different than what I like in a book, and I think this story has a lot of potential. I did rather like the ending even if it was a more than a little bit predictable.
