The Woods Are Always Watching is the story of Leena and Josie on their last trip hiking and camping together before college life splits them apart. At first, their banter is enjoyable, and they seem to be on the way to having a fun trip. However, their fun quickly devolves into arguments as the girls are constantly at each other's throats. After that things go from bad to worse.

From the description, I thought this was kind of a supernatural horror like a monster in the woods or something. Boy was I mistaken. This is most definitely a survival/gross-out horror. There's a lot of focus on attempting to gross the reader out. Gross-out horror is my least favorite horror ever. Just no. I don't want to read that. There are some pretty graphic descriptions of things, and I'm just glad I wasn't eating while reading this. This was definitely not one of my favorite books.

I guess if you like Deliverance, you might like this, but this one is not for me.
