I have heard so many good things about this author. Unfortunately this book was so bad it was funny. The wood are alway watching follows Neena and Josie, two best friends who are apart to go their separate ways to college. As a last hurrah, they decide to go on a hike for three days in the woods. The first one hundred pages start off super slow and boring, to the point I almost just stopped reading. but then Josie falls into a man-made hole. She breaks her leg really badly and Neena goes back to get help. THEN some guy finds Josie in the hole and shoots her hand. So this girl is now down a hand and a leg, yet she somehow gets out of the hole, get the guy into it, and catches up to Neena because Neena is slow because of her asthma. If Josie were a person in real life, she'd die of blood loss or shock. It's just so bad I was literally laughing. There's also serious things at the end like rape and necrophilia that are sorta just brushed aside.
