The horror genre is one of my favorites and something I am trying to read more of, so I'm very glad I picked this one up! I flew through this book in less than twelve hours, and although it took me about 60 or 70 pages to get into it, I did end up enjoying it. Because this book is so short, I wish I had been captivated from the very beginning. Once I started getting into it, I was already almost half way through the book, which made the parts I did enjoy go by in what felt like the blink of an eye. The characters both made dumb choices at times, which aggravated me, but they pushed through and came out stronger in the end. The last little bit was so, so interesting, and I wish we could've seen more of it!

The Woods Are Always Watching wasn't my favorite but definitely kept me engaged throughout the entirety of it! I've read both this and There's Someone Inside Your House from Stephanie Perkins, and I would definitely read more spooky books by the author.
