This is a short spooky read coming out just in time for Fall. I found both Josie and Neena to be different and relatable in their own right, but also instantly clique, in a good way. This felt like a very harrowing tale from the get go and given the title, I think it was safe to assume, it wasn’t going to end well. I love a good hiking through the woods thriller because there is always the element of not being able to call for help, find your way, or run into other predators. I think there were some seriously graphic descriptions that left me wanting to gag every so slightly, but overall, it was a very jarring tale of friendship, survival, tragic backstories, and finding your inner strength. This would make a great movie, because it fits so well into the thriller outline of predictable, but also surprising and tons of suspense. I really enjoyed this and read it in less than a day.
