The cover felt a bit generic. The title and synopsis scream horror genre, which is not my genre, and so I didn't even bother with the excerpt. But frankly, there isn't a lot of surprise with this kind of plot. The usual plot for a horror/thriller camping/hiking is a group who doesn’t know much about camping/hiking, have some fun moments, then start hearing stuff and stumble upon a killer, then there's chasing/fighting/injuries/close calls until they make it out of the mountains alive but just barely. No thank you. This is a hard pass for me. This is probably best for fans of slasher/horror movies.
