Powerful and Emotional Story of Women Without Reproductive Freedom
Wow, this book opens with quite a punch. Pediatric nurse Saoirse loves brightening the lives of the sick children in her hospital, yet at the same time she is not sure that she is ready to commit to starting a family with Miles, the man she loves. He is ready to have a family, but she is not sure; plus a baby means a bigger impact on her life and career than it is for Miles. These are concepts that seem outside Miles's field of comprehension, and the tension is palpable.
While the setting of this book might be 1970's Ireland, no one has to be told that reproductive freedom is still a big issue. I have my fingers crossed that I win a copy of this book and look forward to reading it! Stay tuned (hopefully) for my final review.
