This memoir reads something between nonfiction and fiction. It’s a true story as any memoir, but the language is very descriptive almost like a fiction novel. The author is a good story teller, and she has an interesting story to tell. I chuckled a little that she considered the small house in Ohio an upgrade because the square footage was so much larger than their apartment in New York City. Reminded me a little of the show Army Wives and the experiences of military spouse friends managing deployments and secrecy in their jobs. Would be interested in reading more about her experiences managing life as a military wife who didn’t really want to have a military spouse, but this was a good length of sample. Not sure how much less there is to say, but I’ve heard other good reviews of this book. BOTM chose it a month or so ago as a monthly book choice.
